The OI-15 firmware is updated periodically to fix minor bugs, improve performance, and introduce new features. TRA recommends keeping the OI-15 firmware up-to-date to take advantage of the improved performance and features. To find out if the firmware is up-to-date, you need to go to the config screen. On the bottom left corner of the config screen you will see the firmware version number, as well as the build date. If the built date is older than the most recent firmware updates listed on TRA's website, then it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest build date version. It is safe to upgrade within the same version family, for example, 1.7 -> 1.7, 1.8 -> 1.8. Please consult with TRA first if you would like to upgrade to a different firmware family. No. This was allowed in older versions of firmware releases. However, we found its use contributed to some cases of permanent image burn-in to the display. TRA recommends using screen savers when the screen is inactive and operator interactions are not required. Screensavers significantly prolong the life of your OI-15 display. Currently, the longest time that can be set for screensaver delay is two (2) hours. We recommend shorter intervals if at all possible in your particular operating environment.
